How to look up a Reddit user

Everything a public Reddit profile can tell you, where to find it, and which numbers matter if you're planning to market with an account.

Reddit user search, the manual way

You can open any profile at reddit.com/user/username, or search Reddit and switch to the People tab. That shows karma and the latest activity, but you have to scroll to see where someone actually spends their time, and a profile you are logged into can look different from what strangers see.

This Reddit user lookup reads the profile logged out, pulls the last 100 comments and posts, and summarizes them: top subreddits, active hours, average scores, and removed posts.

Post karma vs comment karma

Karma is the running score of upvotes minus downvotes, split into post karma and comment karma. Total karma also includes small amounts from awards. For marketing, comment karma matters more than it looks: it shows the account takes part in conversations instead of only dropping links, and that is exactly what mods and spam filters look for.

Account age and cake day

An account's cake day is the anniversary of the day it was created, marked with a small cake icon on Reddit. The analyzer shows the exact join date and the cake day for any user. Account age is one of the strongest trust signals on Reddit: many subreddits hide posts from accounts younger than a few days or weeks, and brand-new accounts that promote are the ones that get banned fastest.

Is an account ready to market with?

We score seven checks. The two hard ones are age (at least 30 days) and karma (at least 150), because they are common AutoMod and spam-filter floors. The rest look for a real-user pattern: activity in three or more subreddits, more comments than posts, no recent removals, activity in the last month, and a verified email.

An account that fails the hard checks needs weeks of normal activity before it can promote without getting filtered. If you don't want to wait, Bazzly posts through its own aged, warmed-up accounts.

Vetting someone else's account

Yes, it's anonymous. We read only public data, logged out, the same as opening the profile in a private browser window. Reddit doesn't notify anyone, and we don't keep a record of lookups.

The most recent 100 comments and 100 posts, which is as far back as Reddit's public listings go per request. For most accounts that covers weeks to months. Karma totals and account age are lifetime numbers.

Your cake day is the anniversary of the day you created your account. Enter your username above and it's shown right under your name, along with the exact date you joined.

Either the account really hasn't posted, or Reddit hides its history from logged-out visitors. Reddit does this for some very new or low-trust accounts, and users can also hide their history in settings. Karma and age still show.
