Research Reddit from ChatGPT and Claude
Connect the free read-only plugin to find subreddits, threads and rules from your AI assistant.
The Bazzly Reddit research plugin lets ChatGPT, Claude and other AI assistants research Reddit for you. Ask where your audience talks, what they ask about, or whether a subreddit allows promotion, and your assistant answers from Bazzly's stored Reddit data.
It is free with a Bazzly account and read-only. It cannot post, vote or send messages, and it cannot see your projects, leads or billing.
What you can ask
| Tool | What it does | Try asking |
|---|---|---|
| Audience summary | Shows which communities discuss a topic, the mix of conversations, recurring phrases and example post titles. | "Where do restaurant managers talk about scheduling on Reddit?" |
| Find threads | Finds recent posts about a topic, with links. You can narrow it to people asking for recommendations, comparing options, seeking an alternative or describing a problem. | "Find recent Reddit posts where people are comparing CRMs." |
| Subreddit profile | Shows a subreddit's size, published rules and how those rules treat promotion. | "Can I mention my product in r/smallbusiness?" |
How to connect
The plugin address is:
https://api.bazzly.ai/research/mcp
Claude: open Settings, then Connectors, choose Add custom connector, paste the address and follow the sign-in steps.
ChatGPT: add the address as a custom connector, if your ChatGPT plan allows them.
Claude Code: run this command, then run /mcp and choose Authenticate:
claude mcp add --transport http bazzly-research https://api.bazzly.ai/research/mcp
Your assistant sends you to Bazzly to sign in. If you do not have an account yet, you can create one there. Review what the connection can do, click Connect, and you return to your assistant, ready to go.
What the data covers
The plugin searches a stored sample of Reddit posts from the last 14 days, across the subreddits Bazzly tracks. A few things to keep in mind:
- It is a sample. Counts show matches in our stored posts, not total Reddit activity.
- Coverage varies by topic. Business and software topics have the most data. Consumer topics can be thin.
- Results are not live. They can be up to a day old, and scores and comment counts are from when we read the post.
- You get titles and links, not full posts. Open the link to read the whole thread.
- Conversation types are inferred from the post text. Most posts have no label, so a keyword search usually finds more than a filtered one.
- Rule summaries are a guide. They come from each subreddit's published rules and do not guarantee how moderators will act.
Research is limited to 30 calls a day. The limit resets at 00:00 UTC.
Your data and disconnecting
When you connect, we store which assistant you connected and a hash of its access tokens, so we can check each request. We count your calls to apply the daily limit, but we do not keep what you search for alongside your account. Your assistant handles your conversation under its own privacy policy.
To disconnect, remove Bazzly from your assistant's connector settings. To remove your account and connected sessions entirely, email support@bazzly.ai.
Frequently asked questions
- Is the plugin free?
- Yes. You need a free Bazzly account to connect, and research is limited to 30 calls a day. You do not need a paid plan.
- Can the plugin post to Reddit for me?
- No. It is read-only and cannot post, vote or send messages. To reply, open the thread on Reddit, or use Bazzly itself if you have a plan.
- Can my assistant see my Bazzly projects?
- No. The plugin only reads shared Reddit research data. It has no access to your projects, leads, drafts or billing.
- Why does my search return few results?
- The plugin searches a stored 14-day sample, and some topics have little coverage. Try several related phrases, because each one is searched as an alternative.
- How do I disconnect the plugin?
- Remove Bazzly from your assistant's connector settings. To remove your account and connected sessions entirely, email support@bazzly.ai.
